| Kid’s heel is the most common cause of heel pain in the growing athlete and
occurs in children ages 7 to 15, with the majority of people affected between 10
and 12 years of age. |

| Indications |
|
|
|
| Complaints of pain or tenderness in the heel or both heels with possible
discomfort felt first thing in the morning or when heel is squeezed. Child may
be limping and typically the pain is more severe after increased exercising and
during running or playing sports. |
|

| Cause |
|
|
|
| Kids heel come from a combination of overuse and repetitive stress on the growth
plates, bones and tendons in the heel area in an active growing child. Kids heel
can be caused by normal physical activities or by an acute trauma from sports or
other activity that involves a lot of heel movements at or during a time that
the bones, ligaments and tendons are developing rapidly in this age range. |
